Rehearsal Report 014

Moon Over Buffalo

3-17-2014

Worked Today:

Start: 7:20pm

Break: 8:15pm (5 min)

End: 9:34pm

Notes:

Cast in Attendance: Shelby, Jake, Erik, Kristin, Caitlin, Ben, Nikki

Conflict: Clint

Sets:

-Beginning of Act1/Roxanne entrance from the carriage..Ron is in process of building, it is very heavy and will take 3-4 crew people to move.

-Barb to paint the carriage on Mon. March 17: 17th century France look

-Need a brace underneath the sofa to hold in place (using sofa not chaise lounge)

-Vanity and Mirror: done!

-Black curtain SL to cover vanity mirror

-2x3 screens on SL & SR to cover set/set pieces for scene changes

-Barb is sketching Cryano and Private Lives backdrops: chose inspirational images to use, will be on Batten 1

-Nail the table down that’s between the two doors

Costumes:

-A CREW member will be dressed as Cyrano, but only see their back from the orchestra pit (pg.104)

-All women except Ethel will be wearing garters and nylons

-All women should have red lips and red nails

-Men should have no facial hair

-The Cyrano pants that rip twice each night: by prop shelf/ two for ripping (velcro) and one for wearing.

-Outstanding: Nikki, Clint (need to find General jacket), Richard (1 suit), Paul (tux and street clothes), Howard (1 outfit that is not a suit, but dressy enough to impress), George (street clothes?)

-Charlotte needs another robe, the cream one we tried last night took to long to tie

-Charlotte’s pleated white undergarment is perfect and so is her Roxanne gown

-George/Cyrano: There is a gold brocade jacket and several shirts by rehearsal shelves

Lights:

-Beginning of Act1 when Roxanne (Charlotte Hay) steps down from the coach/door, ME would like a lot of fog and the door to be darkly lit.

-Don’t need stair lights on steps leading up to stage

Sound/Music:

-telephone rings will be coming from Stacy backstage, it worked great

-Need a crash sound for when George falls back into orchestra pit (pg.104)

Props:

-Chalkboard: needs to be painted a bit more, need an eraser, will put extra chalk in side table drawer

-Makeup props for vanity will be placed in two-tier basket

-Roz WON’T wear an engagement ring

-Coffee burner is correct, Mary Ellen wants to think about the bronze pot..unsure about it.

-What kind of coffee mugs/cups will we be using?

-Need a Mickey Rooney movie poster, unsure of which movie: Tamar and Mary Ellen to discuss further

-Cyrano noses: should be arriving soon

-Fake lamp that Howard shoots at, it doesn’t need to work

-Jack Daniel bottles: will be placed in prop fridge every night to stay fresh and will be rinsed every couple of shows

-Need a liquid that looks like coffee or is cold coffee for pot at top of Act2

-Roz needs her own suitcase

-On prop shelves: 2 copies of Vanity Fair, letter to Roz, program for Howard

Blocking:

-George will NOT fall into the pit, he will drop to his knees and do a stunt-man “shoulder roll” into the pit.

-Paul and Roz: during make out scene on couch, when Paul says, “tell me later when you’re naked”…there needs to be more kissing/“convincing” to make Roz say “Okay”, it’s too fast right now (will discuss at next rehearsal)

-George will put gun in table drawer after he takes it from Howard

-Charlotte’s exits and entrances on pg. 38, 41, 44: need to figure out, it’s not working quite yet.

-George: when you give Ethel note (addressed to Roz) have a bottle of JD in your hand as well

-Ethel: take bottle of JD after you pour it all into clear coffee pot, pick up the two scripts on the floor and the clothes by ironing board

-George: do not fully take off your “street” pants until you and Paul are hidden in closet

-George: have one leg in your Cyrano pants and no shoes on when you and Paul exit the closet finally in Act 2

-Roz: there will be clothes on ironing board, throw those on the floor before hooking the board in place
